Our Story
Our Story
In 2003, the vision for Hero Certified Burgers was not born with the intention to reinvent the hamburger. As a matter of fact, it stemmed from its founder’s search for an all-natural 100% Seasoned Angus beef burger with a real slice of Canadian cheddar cheese. Trained as a cheesemaker, John F. Lettieri found it nearly impossible to find an all-natural 100% Angus beef burger with real cheddar cheese outside of high-end restaurants and hotels. That search for all-natural, Real. Good. food resulted in the birth of Hero Certified Burgers.

Grassroots
In the early 2000s, the mission was to find a beef supplier that was not only committed to a quality product, but to high standards and integrity towards rearing their livestock. Finding loyal partnerships with Ranchers is vital to Hero Certified Burgers’ business. Hero Certified Burgers supports the extra cost in handling cattle to its specifications, insisting on 100% Angus Beef cattle that are on a grain-fed diet (containing no animal by-products) and raised in a free-range environment.
