Heroes in Black is also focused on physically being involved in these youth’s lives through meeting with them directly and connecting them with professionals that can mentor them with personal passions such as music, dance and trade work. They are also dedicated to finding people that do amazing things within their community and expose them to the world.
Hunger Heroes Mission – LIFE IS SHORT. DO SOMETHING THAT MATTERS.
Hero Certified Burgers partnered with Heroes in Black, to launch the Hunger Heroes mission. Once a month, we venture the streets of Toronto to feed and clothe the homeless of Toronto. What began as a small group of 10, has grown to a monthly group of 40 plus citizens.
Since beginning in September 2014, we’ve fed over 600 homeless and at-risk youth through our Hunger Heroes Mission and we don’t plan on stopping.
To join the Hunger Hero Mission, kindly email email@example.com or stay tuned on our Facebook & Twitter for updates.
Hero Certified Burgers is proud to support this very special agency which offers vital emotional support to people in need.
Since 1967, the Distress Centres, Canada’s oldest and largest crisis helpline, has provided 24-hour telephone support, 365 days a year. 600 volunteers respond to approximately 120,000 calls each year, most of which are received after hours and on weekends when other services are closed. Psychological first-aid is provided to those in need of emotional understanding, crisis intervention or suicide prevention. They also provide face-to-face counseling to grieving families dealing with a death due to homicide or suicide.
The most recent addition to their outreach program is a direct link suicide hotline from every subway platform in Toronto to Distress Centres! It is the only program of its kind worldwide.
Since 2008, Hero has provided free burgers and coffee to the B.A.D. Ride Event, which raises funds for the Distress Centres.
If you’d like to make a contribution to the Distress Centres, visit their website.
