Be A Hero and #BeetCancer…Again!

Hero Certified Burgers Think Pink Campaign

Think pinker this year! We’ve  joined forces again with ACE Bakery in support of the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation- Ontario Region (CBCF), in an effort to help “beet” cancer. From September 26th through October 21st, 2016, diners can visit any HERO Certified Burger location in Ontario and enjoy their favourite burger between a Pink Bun made by ACE Bakery. These attention-worthy buns get their colour from all natural beet juice added to the dough. For every pink bun sold during the campaign, $1 will be donated to CBCF – Ontario Region.

Last year’s campaign surpassed our expectations so we are incredibly thrilled to continue this effort for a second year. We want our guests to know they can still enjoy their favourite burger and still make a difference!

#BeetCancer Burger

Why beet juice? Well, one of the anti-tumor effects of beetroot juice is explained by its high iron content, designed to regenerate red blood corpuscles that supply cancer cells with more oxygen. This higher oxygen content improves cellular respiration – which helps to kill cancer cells.

Beets are considered one of be best cleansing foods, and their main accomplishment in that regard is they detoxify the kidneys, liver and lymph system – while promoting the regeneration of new (healthy) cells.

The ravages of breast cancer affect so many people. We feel strongly about finding innovative ways, like the Pink Bun, to raise funds for breast cancer research with the goal of ending such a terrible disease.

One in nine women are diagnosed with breast cancer each year and one-third of cases are preventable via modifiable behaviors women can take on to reduce their risk including maintaining a healthy body weight.

We hope that our all-natural 100% Canadian Angus beef or any of our other premium proteins in between an all-natural beet juice bun will give ladies the right protein to help maintain a healthy and energetic weight.

CIBC Run for the Cure (October 2, 2016)

HERO and ACE will be on-site Sunday, October 2nd, at the CIBC Run for the Cure in Toronto, with the HERO food truck at the finish line. Delicious pink bun sliders will be made to order for a minimum donation of $2 per slider. “Runners, families, and friends – refuel with pink bun sliders at the HERO food truck,” says Lettieri, “Seize the opportunity to try a beet-juice bun from ACE Bakery for an amazing cause.” All donations will continue to benefit CBCF.
